Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre (WMIC)

WMIC is a world leading research Institute and is based on the Christie Hospital NHS Trust Campus in South Manchester. You will be part of the multi-disciplinary operational team within WMIC to drive forward a broad program of clinical PET (Positron Emission Tomography) based research which will include in vitro procedures and some NHS diagnostic work. The WMIC currently houses three state-of-the-art PET scanners, including the only HRRT brain scanner in the UK, and a 1.5T MRI machine. There will be an opportunity to work closely with clinical radiology in the Christie NHS Foundation Trust hospital. The successful candidate will have extensive opportunities for personal and career development.
You will liaise closely with all WMIC/Trust staff in order to ensure the smooth implementation of clinical protocols. You should be experienced in clinical or research based nuclear medicine/ PET and in dealing with members of the public and patients. This position requires you to be extremely motivated, in addition to possessing well developed teamwork and communication skills. Practical training in PET radiography will be provided.
You will be suitably qualified in a Radiography (DCR, BSc) or Nuclear Medicine Technology (DRI, PGD) discipline.
