Job Description
Overview of Company
Blemain Group is well established and rapidly growing company operating primarily in the financial sector, (ie Secured Lending & Mortgages, Motor Finance, Brokerage and Property Investment/Development). The company was established over 30 years ago and now has over 300 employees servicing a national customer base.
Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, this position will involve following a risk based approach to audit financial and operational processes and procedures within the company. Joining a small team, the role will provide an excellent opportunity to be actively involved in the implementation of a commercially-focussed and efficient risk management and audit approach within the organisation.
The role will include:
€¢Assisting the Head of Internal Audit (HIA) in developing the risk based internal audit plan;
€¢Working with Group business unit heads to develop risk profiles and facilitate a system of regular quarterly control risk self assessment (CRSA);
€¢Planning and carrying out audits of financial and operational processes and procedures across the Group;
€¢Reviewing and understanding key balance sheet and profit and loss accounts including the operation of suspense and control accounts;
€¢Preparing high quality written reports within tight timescales following each assignment;
€¢Following up on all audit actions raised to ensure adequate resolution; and
€¢Assisting the HIA in preparing and delivering reports to Senior Management, the Group Executive Team and the Audit Committee.
Essential Criteria:
€¢Proactive and self motivated with the ability to work with little supervision
€¢Excellent communication skills
€¢Knowledge of internal audit practice (ideally from financial services)
€¢Analytical
€¢Flexible thinking
€¢Excellent accuracy skills and attention to detail
Essential Experience:
€¢2+ years audit experience
€¢CCAB or PIIA part qualified
€¢IT literate, competent in Microsoft word, excel and outlook
